Jerry and his wife, Holly, joined Texas Avenue in the fall of 2019. Within a few weeks, he was
asked to come on board as Associate Pastor, which he accepted.
Holly has since gone to be with the Lord. Anyone who has experienced that knows
the death of a spouse re-defines everything. However, he continues to serve as God leads, knowing one day he will see her again.
Jerry received his ministerial license and became the Associate Pastor in the eleventh grade
at a church in El Paso. He was able to teach the adult Sunday School class, perform
weddings, etc.
Being attached to a military family, Jerry was privileged to live in Germany in his ‘growing
up’ years. Growing up in a different culture, meeting people in a post-WWII
environment, allowed him to see people from a unique point of view. Touring Germany
on his bike, as a youth, he was able to assimilate into the German culture. God has used
that to give him a perspective in his teaching and preaching.
He now enjoys and is blessed to minister at Texas Avenue. Having retired from a
teaching position thru a local junior college, he is able to enjoy teaching and ministering as God leads here in the League City area. He tells people that he "can't measure His blessings."
